Elder Campbell Sightings

Some of the perks of working at the MTC is that Robyn can "drop in" on missionaries every now and then.

First Sighting
A few weeks ago, Maddie was visiting Utah for her birthday. She had the car and was picking Robyn up at work.  On the way out, Robyn sees missionaries coming out of Nate's building heading for dinner.  Robyn spots her son--because at 6'4 1/2" he, is towering over everyone.  She decides to hide behind a bush and video her son walking with the other missionaries.

Nate (spotting his mother hiding behind a bush):  Mom!?!  What are you doing?

Robyn:  I was watching you.

Nate (to his companion):  Uhh. This is my mom.  She actually works here--she didn't sneak in.

After conversing for a bit:

Robyn:  Will you walk me to the gate?  I have a surprise for you.

Nate and companion:  Sure.

On the way to the gate, Maddie (who hasn't seen Nate in a while) jumps out of the car and since the gate rails were open, comes into the MTC.

Maddie (trying not to burst): NNNNAAAATTTTE!!!

Nate is pleased to see his sister and gratefully accepts the big hugs she foists upon him--three of them.  Robyn gets a little teary because neither one of these children are huggers, but here they are hugging at the MTC without caring who sees.  Nate's companion is fine with it all which endears him to the others.

Robyn:  Wow, Maddie.  That was a tender mercy.

Maddie:  Yes, this was the best part of the whole trip!

2nd Sighting
On Grace's birthday, Robyn was missing her son and just wanted to hug him herself.  So she went to this classroom during language study so as to not interrupt a class.  She was rewarded.

Momma just needed a hug from her boy.

Elder Campbell and Elder Sumner. Elder Sumner's Chinese
name means Elder Summer which is ironically what Nate
thought his name was when he first met him.

Apparently his Chinese name means "Elder Branch". He is showing what that looks like.
