The other night while Robyn was at a meeting
Nate: I need a word that rhymes with ducky. Hmmmm. I know! F----.
Aimee (horrified): Nate!!!! THAT is a swear word! You can't say it!!!!
Nate (unbelieving because Aimee once told him that the F-word was "Fish" and the A-word was "Apple", yells to the back of the house): Bronte is "f---- " a bad word?
Bronte (also horrified): NATE!!! Yes, THAT is a very bad word. You can't say it!!!
Nate (subdued): Oh. Ok.
Aimee (feeling the need to teach an important lesson): Nate you have to be careful. It all begins with swearing. Then you might start drinking or doing drugs or something like that.
Grace (adding her two cents): Yeah, and then you will end up in jail!
Too funny. Hopefully Nate will stay out of jail.
ReplyDeletereminds me of teaching Kemuel when he was 3 years old to replace f-word with "winebibber". staged elaborate play in front of the tike, which ended with me washing out the mouth of one of the actors when he said, "winebibber". made an impression though, to this day, when kemy (now 12) is looking for something to call his little bro, he yells "you're just a big whinybibber!" Mosiah saved the day.
